Bodaway Lakota is a faithful follower of the Covenant—and a very skilled assassin. A Naiche warrior, he is only sixteen, but he has killed many in the name of their cause. Him and his clan are ordered by the Covenant to hunt down and behead her at all cost. He finds ways to out smart his enemy by changing her physical appearance and going by the name, Tristan. Despite his motive to deceive and slay her, she welcomes him into her life through a false friendship. After a series of dark episodes, their relationship blossoms into something truly unexpected. The two, one light and one dark, become close and a new forbidden friendship is born. Trouble arises when his clan discovers their secret and seek out to kill Natalie as originally planned. Tristan is left with a decision to choose between his clan or his new forbidden friendship.
